Overview

What is Oamiguard Z50 Antibacterial Agent?

Oamiguard Z50 dispersion is a highly effective broad-spectrum antibacterial agent that effectively protects products against deterioration by molds, yeasts, algae and bacteria. The product is an aqueous dispersion of a zinc hydroxypyridinethione chelate, namely zinc 2-pyridinethiol-1-oxide, commonly known as zinc pyrithione. Oamiguard Z50 dispersion has a low viscosity and excellent dispersibility and flowability, making it easier to incorporate into product systems.

Applications
  • Architectural and industrial paints and coatings
  • Construction materials (flooring adhesives, sealants, grouts, cement slurries, joint compounds)
  • Water-based mineral and pigment slurries
  • Synthetic polymer emulsions
  • Water-based adhesives
  • Textiles (apparel and furnishing products)
  • Control of mold and bacteria in plastic products (carpets, carpet backing, curtains, foam mattresses, sports flooring and mats, footwear, sponges)
Advantages
  • Broad-spectrum antibacterial and mildewcide, effective against molds, yeasts, algae and bacteria
  • Low viscosity, excellent dispersibility and flowability, easy to incorporate into product systems
  • Non-specific mode of action, extremely unlikely to develop bacterial resistance

Performance

Physical & Chemical Parameters

Composition Aqueous dispersion of zinc 2-pyridinethiol-1-oxide (zinc pyrithione)
Appearance Off-white liquid
pH (5% slurry in water, 20 ℃) 6.5 - 8.5
Specific gravity (25 ℃) 1.2
